Healthcare Visualisations
The personal healthcare visualisations were synthesised using a network graph analysis. Network analysis allows identifying key outcomes and their interdependencies. Network stats focus on the reflection about the outcomes that can act as anchors, influencer, bridge, and disseminators.
Two outcome-based visualisations are presented to illustrate the different visions of patients and providers. A central graph helps to contrast the relevant outcomes for the participants.
Description
System thinking has become a suitable paradigm to deal with the complexity of healthcare [1,2]. Some system thinking approaches have identified relevant elements to construct systems, but elements such as outcomes have been less explored in most approaches. Outcomes have become well-established elements in quality improvement healthcare interventions [3].
Nevertheless, outcomes have been poorly employed as a driver for design. Even though healthcare stakeholders often face disagreement due to the conflict of values, goals and outcomes, less reflection is made around these elements. This power presents how patients and providers visualise healthcare outcomes as an interconnected network.
