Every person, team, and organisation is naturally entangled in multiple relationship systems. Designers have a unique way of propelling change through their powerful ways of connecting through visual design proposals and practice-based proposals/interventions. Systemic oriented designers have an extra duty to awareness and acknowledgement the many effects of the world´s various systemic pressures, requiring awareness of our own role in any part of what emerges. The skillset to lead others in practice and to inform in ways that invite onboarding and contributions.
The workshop explores protainer co-creation as a skill supporting systems’ re-generativity. The exploration builds on the facilitators’ experience with-in communities of inquiry and the practice of leaders committed to expanding consciousness and capacity for being instruments of evolution.
Referred to as systems’ ability to support constant development through personal, societal, and ecological disruptions, re-generativity appears critical for reflexive communities intending to “co-produce the next.”
Systems’ re-generativity translates into capacities such as re-envisioning desired futures and re-formulating intentions, re-negotiating priorities and responsibilities, re-organizing, and tending to the system’s boundaries and renewal in an open and inclusive way.
The workshop focuses on co-designing a secure and ever-emerging protainer that supports re-generativity. The protainer, intended as the principles and values that hold, enable, and distinguish the system, is itself an emergent co-creation that begins the moment the system is formed and is lived-out by its actors through time and space.
In the space-time of the workshop, participants are invited to experiment with co-creating a re-generative protainer by leveraging their lived experience with-in the system, moment after moment, as an expression of the system’s intelligence, energy, and creativity.
