Drawing upon fundamental inquiry into the influences and biases shaping decision-making, the project attempts to decode the systemic complexities imbued in how choices are made. Recognising the complexity behind a question as simple as ‘How do we make a decision?’ motivated us to decode the entire system of decision-making. How do individual and collective decisions fuel evolving systemic patterns within and across an ecosystem? Biases and influences on a social, cognitive, institutional and cultural level are some elements and the patterns that form to make a choice and reflect on how decisions are made on a conscious and subconscious level. Expanding further, it is an attempt to understand inclusivity, creative process, group dynamics, facilitation, informed decision-making, power dynamics, collaboration, awareness, and empathy in the process. We seek to understand the amalgamation of these elements and the systemic cause-effect change that may result from the same. At its core, our project, through multiple design methodologies, critically recognises, analyzes and exhibits the intricacies of decision-making and offers participatory methods in the form of gigamap, informational video, games, and cards through which individuals and collectives can be more cognizant of the process, identify frictions and act on making informed choices. The crux is to empower individuals and communities to navigate decisions with greater awareness and agency.
